Wage Garnishment Bill

HB 365 and SB 425 will be heard in the House Economic Matters Committee on February 12th, and in the Senate Finance Committee on the 14th, respectively. The bill would protect low income Marylanders struggling with debt by increasing the amount of money that low-wage workers can protect from garnishment from $217.50 per week to $550 per week, or from $11,310 per year to $28,600 per year.
